Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
Reporting to the Chief of Advanced Practice Providers, Vice President, Perioperative Services Administration and Vice President, Perioperative Services Anesthesia, this position will support clinical practice, leadership, administration and service excellence in the perioperative services department.
Manages nursing and administrative operations of nurse anesthesiology. Manages fiscal, material and human resources, determines optimal deployment of resources, generates budgets and work plans. Ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory agency standards.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years management experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience as a CRNA in an inpatient hospital setting, OR one (1) year experience as a lead CRNA with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a CRNA in an inpatient hospital setting, OR a minimum twelve (12) years as a CRNA in an inpatient hospital setting
- Master's Degree required in a health care related field from an accredited program
- Demonstrated leadership skills including effective communication, coaching and conflict resolution
- Demonstrates in depth knowledge of CRNA patient care, clinical standards, protocols and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory compliance including relevant CRNA accreditation and licensure requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving across all levels of the organization
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in a health-related field
- CRNA experience in academic medical center
- Strong knowledge of human resources management practices and policies
- Demonstrated fiscal management skills
- Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and EMR systems used in clinics / clinical departments
- Demonstrated hospital management skills to plan objectives, organize operations, and coordinate and direct staff
License/Certification
- Current California licensure in good standing by specialty:
- RN/NP
- Physician Assistant
- RN/CRNA
- RN/CNM
- Possess National Provider Identification (NPI)
- National board certification in area of clinical practice upon hire
- American Heart Association ACLS certification
- American Heart Association BCLS certification
- American Heart Association PALS certification

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
