In early 2019, CHI and Dignity Health united as one health care provider—CommonSpirit Health. We combined our resources to further support our dedication to building strong communities and advocating for those in need.

Our organization is prepared for the future of health care as we respond to the current trends and advancements in the care delivery model, envision a healthier tomorrow for the people in our communities and lead with humankindness. 

Our history

CommonSpirit Health was created through an alignment of multiple health care organizations as a single ministry in early 2019, with a committed mission to serve those who are poor and vulnerable. As a part of this nation-wide ministry, CommonSpirit Health at Home’s geographic footprint serves 13 states, representing many diverse populations across the country.

Our services

Our skilled at-home care is easy to access, easy to understand and easy to navigate. Our experienced home health experts coordinate services and continuity of care from hospital to home, and our dedicated nurses, therapists and pharmacists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer questions or handle changes in a patient’s condition.

Sacred Stories

Through the years, Sacred Stories have been used for personal reflection; to begin or end a workday; or to start a meeting by acknowledging the presence of God. Sacred Stories tell of moments of God’s divine presence in our workplace, written by our employees and medical staff members – moments that could be fleeting except for the fact that they are courageously recorded and preserved in these stories. Our hope is for these stories to inspire reflection in all and to encourage new authors to record their heightened awareness of spirituality at work. 

You'll notice each story is prefaced by a selection of scripture or other sacred text. These words help to frame each story within the larger context of God’s presence in our world. Upon reflection, they help us understand how God can choose to act through us.

Each story is followed by one or more questions that invite individual exploration or group discussion, leading to deeper understanding. We hope this structured reflection process can help to expand our understanding of God’s presence and the importance of spirituality in our workplace.
